5/18/26, WKBT La Crosse – Transportation officials and stakeholders gathered at the Radisson to examine the critical role of Wisconsin’s transportation system in regional development and economic stability.
The Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin hosted the roundtable discussion, addressing a wide range of infrastructure challenges facing the region. Participants examined issues spanning from bridge infrastructure impacts on agricultural operations to deteriorating road conditions in urban areas.
A primary focus of the discussion centered on securing adequate funding to maintain the state’s transportation network.
Officials emphasized the urgent need for sustainable revenue sources to prevent costly project delays and system deterioration.
“We do need to ensure there is adequate revenue because in the absence of that we will be talking project delays, which will cost more,” said TDA Executive Director Debby Jackson.
The La Crosse event represents the second of six roundtables the Transportation Development Association plans to conduct across Wisconsin.
These sessions aim to gather input from local stakeholders and develop comprehensive solutions for the state’s transportation funding challenges.
