5/19/26, WEAU Eau Claire – From deteriorating roads to failing bridges, city and state leaders came together to discuss the challenges of transportation.
The Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin hosted a roundtable discussion in Eau Claire Tuesday.
Officials say our town roads, city streets and state highways connect goods, services and people, but transportation funding has dwindled the past few years.
“You know, the price of asphalt, which is going up, and other construction materials, the cost of labor. And so, really, it’s about, are we set up to make the investments we need to ensure that we can support our economy for the next 10, 20, 30 years?” said Debby Jackson, Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin.
More discussions are being held throughout the state with similar events happening in La Crosse, Wausau, Appleton and Janesville this month.
